History
VDL KTI was originally founded in October 1948 as Werkhuizen Hembrechts. They were engaged in the manufacture of iron works, serving the construction industry, such as windows and doors, and all other iron constructions.
The company was taken over by KTI Netherlands in June 1971 and renamed KTI Belgium, a member of the KTI Group. The KTI Group was a process-oriented engineering contractor with main operations in Europe and USA. Over the years, the business activity of KTI Belgium changed to specific engineering tasks and manufacturing of high-quality process equipment.
In November 2000, KTI Belgium was acquired by the Dutch VDL Groep and renamed as VDL KTI. VDL Groep is an international industrial family business devoted to the development and production of semi-finished and finished products.
